It is clear this season that our ball hockey team (if everyone shows!) is at a level above the other teams. It is a rec league and this shouldn't really matter. But I guess some people are complaining about the disparity. Well, we aren't changing things mid-season, but might look to shuffle some players around for the next session. *shrug* Yes, we won again. Our old goalie returned to play. It was cool to see him playing again. Even though we lit him up. *snort*

So Mango Mussolini decided to create an economic shitstorm by setting tariffs (his magic new toy!) on Canada, Mexico and China. The lie was that it was somehow related to drugs crossing the border but that is easily demonstrated to be inaccurate. So both Mexico and Canada responded with reciprocal tariffs on U.S. goods. I was actually really impressed with Trudeau's speech. He portrayed it as a betrayal of a long friendship (which it is) and targeted Red state's goods. It was pretty incredible the response across the nation. The U.S. anthem was booed at hockey games, Canadian stores putting Maple Leafs beside Canadian products, U.S. booze pulled from LCBO, U.S. contracts in Ontario cancelled... etc. etc.. Trudeau suggesting this was unnecessary and that the U.S. would get more through cooperation than petulant aggression. Obviously have to watch where this goes...

Finally finished Arcane Season 2. Arcane remains one of the most impressively designed animations ever. It is absolutely gorgeous to look it. But I can't help but feel the writing in season two was a bit of a let down. Season Two occasionally got bogged down in odd magic/dream sequences that were hard to follow. Were the writers high? But that is a small quibble for a largely high octane adventure with incredible characters and fantastic creativity. Arcane is easily one of the best anime I've ever watched. ⭐⭐⭐⭐½

Ha! The big tough alpha male President backed down within 24h from imposing tariffs on Mexico and Canada. BOTH nations just reiterated what they were already doing along their borders. He is such a performative idiot.

Sabres have won four in a row and have made NO progress toward a playoff stop. That is how much of an impact going winless for 14 games was... Locked On Sabres joked they would need to go 21-5-4 to have a shot now... The only joke is Pegula and how he has ruined this team.

Disappointed to see the new Civilizations VII is waaaay down at Mixed. Apparently, the UI for PC is garbage and there is a complete lack of game customizability. It sounds like another unfinished, quick to release so-called AAA title. And for $90! Guess I'll be waiting on this for a long while then... Sigh.
