It is rare that I watch a TV series that gets better with each passing episode. Finally an exception. The series to change that was Spartacus : Blood and Sand. It is wildly captivating and hugely entertaining. Yes, it over the top with violence but I think it is a realistic depiction of that period in time. There were many clever plot twists and great characters. The acting was also well done. It is sad to hear the led actor Andy Whitfield will not return in season two as Spartacus as he is battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It would certainly not be for everyone due to the graphic violence… but I can’t imagine an accurate story told about a Gladiator without it. One of the best series I’ve seen. ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
