My first round picks

It was another frustrating and futile season for my Sabres. In a year that was suppose to be progress toward a playoff spot, they actually ended with FEWER points than last season. This is remarkable since last season was considered such a low point. There are stories of players not getting along with the coach, the heartless, pride-less last few games of the season and the seeming unwillingness of Sabres management to take dramatic action to address issues. The biggest of which is the coach. I guess we find out Wednesday if the team keep him, I’ve heard rumours that they are. This is mind boggling considering the crap season we just witnessed. I don’t want to hear about injuries. The team is just not good. There were enough opportunities throughout the season with the players available to make the playoffs but they consistently found ways to fail. How can team management not be held accountable??! I expect some serious and significant changes over the Summer. As I Sabres’ fan I also expect that won’t happen and we’ll get another season of crap NEXT season. Sabres now have the second longest run without a playoff appearance. How can things be status quo there? Where the hell is hockey heaven? Sigh.

NHL Playoffs start Wednesday. Should be some fun matchups. I’m looking forward to watching the Leafs get wiped out in 4. I’d like to see the Sens win, but I think they’ll have a tough so against the Bruins. I’d like to see Ovi win the Cup this year.

Ontario has had a huge temperature swing the last week. From negative temperatures to above 20 in under a week. I took out all the lawn furniture and solar lights. The evenings are still going to be cold this week however. Hmm. Our silly weather.
