Wow... The long and tedious search for good animation finally hit gold with The Legend of Vox Machina. Great characters and voice acting. An entertaining, adult plot and themes - real emotion and excellent animation. Season one impressed for sure! And they even had a cliff hanger for the next season. Well done! โญโญโญโญโ
LOL.. P*tin and Russians whining like Republicans now that a small part of their territory has been taken by Ukraine. Love it. Bitches. You could:
a) stop the war and get out of Ukraine or
b) stop the war and get out of Ukraine if it is problematic. Idiots.
Unfortunately, P*tin is more bluster and bravado than smarts.๐
Speaking of idiots... Elon sure has gone of the edge of right wing nut job mountain. Damn. I remember when he was an awkward nerd. Now he is ruining his businesses, life and twitter. Great job Space Karen!
Oh and the ultimate good news:
We are on vacation for a week starting Saturday. We have a cottage rented in Muskoka!
Canada is doing well for a nation with ~40M at the Olympics. Some crazy events this year. Skateboarding was pretty neat.
Finally catch a TFC game and they were down 2-0 after 12m. They did make it interesting. But still lost despite having an extra man for the majority of the match. Also lost Berna early. Lost 4-3. Sigh.
Vacation Prep
Now with two dogs to take everywhere (two big kennels) our space to pack for vacation is severally limited. So, we opted to take two cars to the Muskoka rental. But I guess I left something open on my car and the battery was dead. The battery was in really bad shape. I inherited the car and it is old, a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. It has done a lot of sitting in the driveway during covid as well. We tried to jump the battery but looking at it, it simply made more sense to replace it. Well, as you can see... it oozed all sorts of nasty chemicals all over the brace that was holding it in. The nut was completely rusted to the brace, there was no way it was coming along peacefully. After playing with it for a few minutes it became clear I didn't have the tools to reach the bolt with enough torque to remove it. So we asked out neighbours for help. And boy did they... One brought an extended ratcheting arm that allowed us to extent over the battery and get some real force on the nut that was rusted out. It eventually broke off and we were able to remove the gross, old battery. Bdot did get a new mounting brace but it didn't work with our new battery. Sigh. So we really MacGyvered a strap and zip ties to hold it in place. It took some finagling but it worked! The battery is in there, and it's solid...most importantly, the car started! It was a pretty amazing group effort. I don't think I would have been able to remove the battery myself. A big thanks to my resourceful neighbours!
The battery was the start of the day. I also got groceries, dropped off clothes to Reuseit, made chili, cut the lawn, washed the car (sorry buddy) and all sorts of gophering for the vacation. My legs are DONE. It is off to Muskoka tomorrow!
