I guess I should say somethingโฆ Iโm pretty much on a steady diet of work. Iโve had off one full day off in about two weeks. Some of the coders have had it even worse. Every day at least 10-12 hours. Day after day. Soโฆ still think making games for a living is a dream job? Heh. Yes, it is fun at times, but it IS work, a lot of work. Games are always made according to a deadline. It must ship! However developers are always improving, learning, testing, debugging, stressing, re-thinkingโฆ the process, even in the best case, the process involves a great deal of time and effort. This is my companyโs first DS and PSP title so there is a ton of pressure for this to be good. We have until the 30th of November. That is the โshipโ date. The team is starting to show a great deal of fatigue due to the arduous hours and lack of time off. I certainly canโt wait until this project ends on so many levels.
On the bright sideโฆ I do work with some great guys and Iโve tried a bunch of neat restaurants in the North York, Don Mills/Eglinton Ave. area. Sushi, Indian, Thai, Chineseโฆ multi-culturalism is delicious.
OMG the Sabres actually won a game!
