Our last ball hockey game before the playoffs was Friday. Two of our best forwards were out and we were playing the best team in the league. It was a tall order. But wow, everyone stepped the frack up. We chased down every ball and contested every play in our zone. It was a phenomenal team effort. It resulted in a phenomenal team win. We even had a goalie start for us who has never played in the league before. Wow. Fun night.
Saturday we drove to Niagara to spend the day with my Mom. First stop was the Watering Can. It was a mad house. Took 10m just to find parking then walk around a claustrophobic crammed building. I can't imagine doing that again. And we had the dogs. Meh. Somehow we ended up at the Grand Oak for lunch. It was fine but the menu was um, sandwiches or sandwiches. It was suppose to be a nice birthday lunch. Next was Dillions... they had some vendors there but it was also pretty underwhelming. It was nice to see my mother but I think next time we'll have a much simpler itinerary.
Sabres got 6 of 6 points on the Western trip. Amazing. Can they keep up this play?
Hoping I live for at least another 20m - as tomorrow is my birthday and will mark another successful trip around the Sun.
