good bye summer

good bye summer

Spent some bonus time today with B.. I came home early and she, fortunately had not left for home yetโ€ฆ Soโ€ฆ we spent a rainy, but enjoyable day in NOTL. We followed it up with a little trip to Home Depot (added cable to the downstairs TV and Miss Fix it B. fixed a kettle I burnt). For dinner Kingโ€™s Egg Foo Young and Singapore Noodle. Yum! Toss in a bunch of snuggling and our usual hard to say goodbyes, and Iโ€™d say it was a pretty nice day indeed.

five on music

1. Who is your favorite singer/musician? Why?
I donโ€™t I have just one. Butโ€ฆ the pixies are close to the top, so is Beethoven. Why? I find the music moving in different ways.

2. What one singer/musician can you not stand? Why?
Counting Crows suck. Oh I could compile such a listโ€ฆ

3. If your favorite singer wasnโ€™t in the music business, do you think you would still like him/her as a person?
Yes. Frank Black is cooโ€™. Beethoven โ€“ a given.

4. Have you been to any concerts? If yes, who put on the best show?
hmmโ€ฆ so manyโ€ฆ Ministry was pretty cool.

5. What are your thoughts on downloading free music online vs. purchasing albums? Do you feel the RIAA is right in its pursuit to stop people from downloading free music?
Awwโ€ฆ a good question. RIAA going after 18 year olds for thousands of dollars in lost revenue is SICKENING. F*CK YOU. Why not release FULL albums WORTH buying? Why not lower CD prices? Only now are they coming downโ€ฆ a few years ago CDs were ALL $20 a popโ€ฆ Whine, whine, whine, bitch, bitch, bitchโ€ฆ Why not STOP signing clone pop rock BS bands? Why not sign something different? Like we need more clone punk-pop-image-power-chord-lame-ass shit bands. Why are people P2P sharing? Who the fuck wants to buy a $20 CD to hear one GOOD song. Not to mention how expensive concerts are. Or anything at *festival* gigs. Certainly musicians deserve to be paid for good legit work. But cramming the airwaves with mundane ho-hum bubblegum BS isnโ€™t going to turn around sagging CD sales. Why not STOP blaming the consumer and look at the industry itself. Maybe you should clean up the shit in your own backyard before you fling it over the fence. Yes I feel strongly about this as someone who has a great interest in music, and has spent a lot of money on CDs.
