After the August time away from home the past week has been nearly entirely at home. The weather has been great - back to mid 20s - so relaxing in the backyard has been welcome. We finally got the remaining plants that bdot bought weeks ago into the ground. Hopefully they will survive. Edie sure likes to be the backyard... especially in the Sun. I think she is going to hate Winter.
The Rings of Power is back for another season. What wonderful fantasy. The production quality is so good. Each episode is like a mini movie.
Bdot had a busy weekend. The gods smiled on her for her birthday spa day. The weather forecast was actually for gray skies but she ended up getting a beautiful day.
We had a long talk with our financial advisor yesterday. It was an update on our various investments and to see the viability of actually retiring one day. And yes, one it should be possible. We are actually in a better spot than we thought. When however is a different question. Investments are dynamic things and changes to them impact the retire date. But in general... it should be possible anywhere from 62 to 65. Which is years and years away but still looming on the horizon. I expect once I'm back to making some money, hopefully I can help move the date a bit closer. It was a really interesting and important discussion.
Ball hockey is back at the end of the month... so trying to get some cardio back. It was a really basic ride but since it has been a while it felt pretty taxing. MySwoosh is working again so that is nice. I do like the graphical interaction to motivate me. I hope to ride as much as I can before hockey starts up. I ordered some new hockey gloves since my old ones are worn right the thumbs. This time I tried 'ball hockey' specific gloves. The exterior seems the same but they are smaller and tighter overall for 15" gloves. I've tried them and they are harder to get on for sure but seem pretty good once on.
Not sure if it was a fluke or not...Belarus, P*tin's lapdog state fired on R*ssian drones yesterday. I'm assuming it was a mistake not a change in politics. Still, pretty odd...
The Gaudreau story is truly awful. Ever few hours more details were released and it just keep mounting as a tragedy. Please drink responsibly. The outpouring from the hockey community has been pretty incredible. It sure sounded like he was a role model on and off the ice. *SMH*
I'm not sure what NDP leader Jagmeet Singh is thinking. He dissolved the agreement to support the Liberal minority government. Even if what he says is right... Politically it seems incredibly short-sighted. Are the NDP not going to back the Liberals now on votes? Does he really think left leaning Canadians will vote for the NDP who have never held federal office? What a disappointment. If anytime in history the Canadian Left needed to stick together it is now to keep that loony PP out of office. He may have just handed him the keys to Sussex drive. Sigh...
Wow...the cats have been with us for two years! Holy time is flying.
