B. and I spent the weekend at Rockwood, a campground which is part of the Grand River conservation authority. We went kayaking on Saturdayโ€ฆ for some reason I (well weโ€ฆ) thought there was more river access. We had pretty much went as far as you can go in under an hour. Meh. I was surprised that the rentals, in spite of looking like crap (I hate sit on tops) they held their own fairly well on the water. It is still a nice paddleโ€ฆ just wish it linked into another river or something. The evenings we had great fires, yummy food and a few bevies. It is great to relax with a mixed drink over a fire.

Rockwood is a centrally located tooโ€ฆ From Brampton we were there in under an hour. I liked not having to see the 401 or 400 (major local highways) in order to go camping. It was quite noisy at times however, with trains and traffic from the highway (which is visible from certain sitesโ€ฆyou really should take a drive through before going, not all sites are created equal IMHO). I would have liked more quiet. I think weโ€™ll try Brant park next year or in the fall.

Update: Rockwood link still good. (Nov. 2013) Link updated 2024. Site no longer on cold fusion. Go figure.
