It has been several weeks since my last ride. I'm confessing. Funny the desire to get back on the bike has been building for a week - I finally gave in last night. I was expecting this old body to offer a lot of resistance... and it felt like a first ride after time off but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I did finish the short ride which was my goal. My average wattage was even higher than I was expecting. I really just wanted to finish. So pretty happy about it. Swoosh gets the job done. Not as refined as Zwift but also free so... *shrug*

Hmm...upgrading to Linux Mint 22 on my laptop is going poorly. Not sure what it did to my wifi driver but it killed it mid-upgrade so... it can't download the new packages, so the upgrade fails. Ummm... Trying it again. But that seems stupid. Reboot. Error in same location but this time fix actually fixed the issue. So close to going POP on another machine...

FIFA is a joke

Clearly I was naive to believe Soccer Canada's appeal to FIFA would get the ridiculous 6 point punishment reduced. Such a freaking joke. 🙄🙄

Oh I guess I didn't mentioned the ending of Seven Seconds. VERY UNsatisfying. Making any comment would be spoilerific but... what a dud ending. Maybe that was the UNsatisfying point but.. Meh. Do you think France, Germany, Spain etc. etc. would have got a six point deduction. No freaking way.

Canada advances!

A lot of team may have quit given a nearly insurmountable penalty...but wow, the #CANWNT persevered and win all of the group games. It was the only way they could advance against the horrendous FIFA penalty. It was a tight game with Colombia 🇨🇴 but Canada was able to protect a one goal lead to get themselves into the next round. WOO! They face Germany 🇩🇪 on Saturday!
