not our Autumn Purple Ash

not our Autumn Purple Ash

Bdot and I planted an Autumn Purple Ash in her backyard todayโ€ฆ We are hoping it will provide some shade for her backyard. Apparently the tree should grow 3-4 feet a year. (hehe.. I first wrote a 3-4 feet a dayโ€ฆhehe, could you imagine if it did?) Iโ€™ll post another pic of the little tree once it has some leaves. Here is some more info on the Autumn Purple Ash.

I donโ€™t know why CBC calls โ€˜Hockey Night in Canadaโ€™ by that name. It really should be called โ€˜Hockey Night in Torontoโ€™ since the commentators are so sickeningly pro-Toronto. Listening to them you would think Belfour descended from heavenโ€ฆ Do the Loafs do anything wrong? Gah.

Bushisms

I apologize to his holiness for having to share space with Dubyaโ€ฆ but these Bush quotes (Bushisms) are too fun not to share. Here are just a few:

โ€œSecurity is the essential roadblock to achieving the road map to peace.โ€โ€”Washington, D.C., July 25, 2003

โ€œI promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasnโ€™t here.โ€

โ€œI think we agree, the past is over.โ€โ€”On his meeting with John McCain, Dallas Morning News, May 10, 2000

Update: slate link still good! (Nov. 2013)
