Marlow our new puppy has been diagnosed with Parvovirus. Without treatment 80 percent or more of dogs with Parvo die. He has a 50 percent chance of survival and there is a chance he can catch it again. Joy! I was already concerned about the cost of keeping a dog without any issues. There is training, tons of shots, examinations, new household things to buyโฆ I was already figuring it would be costly. Nowโฆ it is going into the extreme. Shit luck. These are the cards we have been dealt and they are no face, no trump, no ace for sure. Money asideโฆ This is B.โs third dogโฆ all three have had serious complications of some sort. I have not met anyone who loves animals more than B. (well maybe my sister). Someone is seriously jerking her chain. To you I offer my biggest finger.
For me it is just frustration bred out of many thingsโฆ my lack of dog knowledgeโฆ there is a whole dog vernacular I completely donโt understand. Iโm away from the situation since I also have a cat I (which I feel Iโve been neglecting) have to care for and other obligations at *home*. And financially it couldnโt come at a worse time. Oh, and of course my new pet is in hospital with IV tubes stuck in him, vomiting and crapping his body out as a virus tries to dehydrate and kill him. Hmm, might explain why my head is throbbing.
