Doom

One of the first games I ever played a lot was the original Doom. My buddy Drek (what ever happened to Drek??) and I would stay up until dawn connected via modems beating each other and everything in Doom…It was a remarkable game, loads of fun. Games have come a long way since then…

So with id’s announcement that Doom III has gone gold I’m curious to see how it will stack up against Unreal, Half-Life and Quake (the big boys of the Shooter world). While it isn’t as exciting to me as some of the forthcoming RPGs such as Dragon Age and Fable, I still hope it has some of Doom’s original magic… time will tell.
