well… I drove to Richmond Hill for my interview this morning. In spite of the ridiculous cost… the 407 does move you along pretty good – thank gawd – I thought I was going to be late. The interview was pretty pointless. It is amazing that employers can drag you in and within only a few minutes somehow have magically decided that you aren’t suitable for the position. Surely we could have hashed out details over the phone…

Why did you call in the first place? Apparently, the company which shall remain nameless, meow, coff, gasp, is looking for a web developer that can code front and backend and design like Van Gogh. Good luck. I was very surprised to hear that my portfolio doesn’t adequately demonstrate my design ability. I suppose I will learn from this interview and try and augment my portfolio with more design sample. It is really strange… I often wonder prior to an interview what the potential stumbling blocks could be… I never would have expected my lack of a deep portfolio to be on that list. I’ve been using Photoshop for close to five years or so. GAH.
