We spent the weekend on Buckhorn Lake with my parents. It was a good time and it was great to see my parents. We took some back roads upโฆ it never ceases to amaze me how big Ontario is. As we drove through rolling hills in farmland Ontario as far as the eye could see was green pastures and fields. Really beautiful landscapesโฆ I thought they really must see the many storms we have been having roll in. Phew. Saturday we drove up to Bobcaygeon, Bob as my mother kept calling it. Bob was a busy little place. There are lots of little stores and restaurants. A Lock runs through the middle of town. We also stopped at the Farm Bakery just outside (or is it in?) Lakefield. Isnโt the initial smell of entering a bakery on the best smells in the world? Mmmmm!I dropped some coin, so many things were calling to me. Cheese bread, peanut butter chocolate squares, coconut raspberry tarts, strawberry custard pie, mint chocolate tartsโฆ it was nearing overload on my sensors. In the evening my parents and I headed up to Casino night at the park. I was hoping to get some Poker in but got stuck babysitting my Dadโs money as he dealt Blackjack. Blackjack is fun but not as fun as Poker. Sunday we drove home fairly early to meet my sister and Brother in Law in Brampton for dinner. The dogs caused the usual chaos. We walked them at the Fairgrounds under one of the most spectacular rainbows Iโve seen. The photo doesnโt do it justice. It was so vivid for a few minutes. We ended the evening starting another HBO series called Dead Like Me. After watching two episodes I find it cute, funny but gawd the lead *has* to stop pouting and frowning. Good gawd.
Good news, bad news for the Sabres. They signed Briere for $5 million! How much does that leave for other signings? Things are far from done in Buffalo.
