Another one bites the dust. Another weekend in the books. Saturday B. and I went shopping. Iโm admitting here and now that I had a Tomato broth based soup and it was quite good. I picked up some pieces for a new system Iโm putting together. I got an AMD 3700, Asus A8N-E and sleek looking Coolermaster case (the links to these products are long gone...) There was a blue LED fan and a blue cathode tube kit included โ who knew.) (mine has the see-thru side, which is coolio since they included some case bling. Iโm happy with everything so far. Just getting balls installing an OS. My usual methods arenโt working. I usually boot up with a floppy grab WIN98SE off a CD-ROM and install 98 (then upgrade to XP). Wellโฆ since most of the hardware on the motherboard didnโt exist when 98 was released the 98 install dies. Sooooโฆ. Having some grief. My XP CD which usually auto-boots isnโt either. Idea are welcome. I will get it going eventually.
In the evening my buddies came over for a game of Axis and Allies. Captain had some car trouble so we drove down to Mississauga to help him out. I hope his rad gets fixed soon! The game was good. They updated a lot of rules to Axis and Allies so it plays a little different now. Sabres lost again and are looking more like the team I expected to see this year. Ho-Hum.
Sunday was the final all dog day for awhile. Tangaโs final field training day was pretty interesting. She was tested on her tracking, pointing and retrieving abilities. Her tracking was stunning to watch she followed the trail left by a pheasant nearly perfectly. Tanga had several nice points and held steady for a reasonable amount of time. The water retrieving was not so good, or maybe the dog is too smart or selective. She initially went in the water then sniffed the air. Since she was retrieving dummies and not real birds she got out of the water and refused to fetch anything else. As was mentioned at the time, they arenโt called bitches for nothing. She has come a long way. Itโs cool to see the dog respond instinctually to various situations. She is well on her way to being a great hunting companion.
