Hmmpt. I'm at the age where random shit happens to your body and you have no idea the cause. So, something happened to my right foot. It felt somewhere between a cramp that never went away and a bruise - there was very apparent inflammation. I could bare bend my big toe and it made walking awkward. I have no idea what I did. It just started to hurt... *eyeroll* Fortunately, this pain the foot only lasted for about 48h. As bdot suggested, I hit is pretty hard with cold which seemed to help immensely. Ugh.
We took advantage of our local recycling center's free shredding day... We got rid of all sorts of old papers and rubbish that was sitting around. Paint cans, old outdated tech and all sorts of chemicals. It felt good to be a bit of a household cleanup.
While sorting through old tech, I came across my 10 year old NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1. It still boots but seems slow for a lot of tasks. I was thinking about tossing it. I decided to wipe it and see how it ran. Well... it seems better. I'm going to use as a music player as it runs Plex quite well. So now I have a dedicated screen to see what's playing. The sound is still off HDMI so it is really good. *shrug* Seems like a good compromise for this great little piece of tech. The screen still looks pretty amazing all these years later...
Since the week away in Muskoka my car has sat pretty idle. I didn't want to use it because the muffler is shot. It sounds like some 20 year old's souped up Honda. I finally got it up the our mechanic and it is going to cost a bit to fix. The front struts were shot. So it begged the age old car question of putting more money into the beater or looking for something else. If we are lucky, a good 'something else' is starting at 8k. We thought we might have a line on a great used car our nephew was using, but it looks like they are holding onto it. There was the option of dipping into savings but, for me, that is only a last resort. Soooo we are sinking some money into the beater and will hope for another year's use out of it. I hate cars. If it dies however, I will use savings on a used car if we can find one. Meh.
Jez, ball hockey starts back up in less than a week. I've been trying to get some biking in every other day. MySwoosh has been a solid free option so far.
We tried a new local pizza joint. I thought it was solid. Maybe a bit doughy... we tend to prefer a thinner crust but great toppings and sauce. It looked busy, so the locals are testing it out for sure...
The little rat has discovered toilet paper and is now shredding them if given the chance. So we have to keep the bathroom doors closed. *eyeroll*
I'm watching Spurs v. Arsenal. Lots of Yellow cards in this 'darby'. 7 in the first half!...No goals so far. Ugh... Spurs couldn't bag one. Gunners scored on a set piece.
