Over priced games...

Over priced games...

Wow. I never knew how much Christmas junk we acquired until we had to cart it all down a flight of stairs. My living room looks like a bargain bin Christmas store with boxes of decorations and tangled lights everywhere. We put up a FAKE Christmas tree (another item with somehow acquired)โ€ฆ at first it looked awful. Like the Charlie Brown tree. You could see the trunk, it was a sad looking thing, it needed love. The gf primed and altered and after awhile it thankfully filled in nicely. Phew.

Lights are one aspect of Christmas I do enjoy. Especially the simplicity of walking around neighbourhoods to see (or not see) the holiday spirit. (Which Iโ€™m sure Ontario Hydro is loving)

One quick little rant (heh) about real Christmas trees. What is up with that?! Why would you hack down a tree and put it in your living room to enjoy for a month. All of them end up as garbage at the curb. Donโ€™t you dumbasses watch the news?? The environment is dying, forests are getting clear cut, jungles are being cut down and some people are cutting down the one thing that might be able to helpโ€ฆtrees. For what? A monthsโ€™ worth of human amusement. That tree could instead help the environment for decades. Iโ€™m not a tree hugging hippy freak but the scales are tilted on this one and I find it a prime example of human arrogance and shortsightedness. Heh, and I started this entry so nicely. Bah.

Update: LOL. Iโ€™ve been a prime example of human arrogance and shortsightedness for about seven years now. Wife loves real trees. (Dec. 2013)

reviews

I thought it would be neat to do a little (very) casual writing for weblog reviews. It is great to see what โ€˜otherโ€™ people are doing on their sites. It is a learning processโ€ฆ check it, check it, check it out! Mmm Jell-o.

Update: blogreview is gonzo.

Fair pay!

The last game I bought was NeverWinter Nightsโ€ฆ it cost me an alarming $92 CDN which I thought was outrageous. But Iโ€™ve been reading about it and waiting for so long that excitement toppled reason. But 90$! Jez. I would love to be able to buy more games, and I would IF they were reasonably priced. I think $30-60 CDN is suitable not $79.99, $89.99 or moreโ€ฆ this website has a good point, take a look.

Update: Above link is 404. Fairplay site is still there.
