There is nothing like listening to 2 hours of our potential leaders โdebatingโ to foster concern about the future of our country. Gawd, my head is spinning. Martin seemed to dodge nearly every question that was put to him by the other party leaders, which got a little tiring after awhile. The Blochead leader Gilles Duceppe, tried all night to get Martin to address the sponsorship, but he didnโt. He should have instead of sticking to his pre-recorded answers. Martin sure has a lot of dodgeball/spin spin sugar skillZ. Ultimately I canโt say I was impressed with Martin as I was hoping I would be. But what are the alternatives? The bland Conservative leader, Stephen Harper, made very little impression on me at all and I disagree with him on a few issues, so he is out. I didnโt mind the NDP leader, Jack Layton. I liked his positive attitude and he was clearly one of the better speakers. I think he will improve his partyโs role in parliament with his performance tonight. But vote NDP? Bob Rae was NDP wasnโt he? It still amazes me that Canada allows a major political party that advocates breaking up the country to exist. The Blochead talking about the Quebec nation? Gawd. I find that so repugnant. It is a shame he canโt put his energy to more a more useful agendaโฆ So voting on June 28th has become more gray and confusing than clearer. Sighโฆโฆ..
