Master and Commander

A long day. I watched my sister and her hubby compete in the Niagara Classic cycling raceโ€ฆ It was pretty cool to watch. They had a monster hill to climb out in Pelham six times. Phew, it was tiring just *watching* them attack the hill, over and over. The race was quite a spectacle. All the preparation, the police blocking off traffic, the flashy outfits, helmets and bikes, the determination of the athletesโ€ฆ Both my sister and her hubby placed in the top ten.

B. and I ended up watching Master and Commander this evening with the tired cyclists. It was somewhat disappointing. I didnโ€™t find it had a whole lot of substanceโ€ฆ The characters werenโ€™t overly interesting either. Basically a cat and mouse duel with shipsโ€ฆ The footage of the ships and the ship protocol, and the historic aspects of the film, were however pretty interesting. It did feel authentic. Just not overly engaging. Iโ€™d have to spin a โญโญโญ for this film. Iโ€™m surprised it rated so well at the Tomato.

Dragon Age!

Gah! Wellโ€ฆ those EVIL Bioware devs are at it againโ€ฆ It looks like they are making another horribly addictive RPG called Dragon Age. It is not related to NWNโ€ฆ but I can imagine they learned tons from developing it soโ€ฆ I wager Dragon Age should be a very solid release. JOY! JOY! JOY!

Update: Link is 404. But I left it because the page is amusing. Seems like a website revamp too for bioware.com. Now a division of EA? Hmm. (Nov. 2013)
