Another Christmas in the books. It was rather quiet. Christmas morning was just us and the dogs. The dogs seemed pretty happy to rip open presents. I completed my 7.1 stereo system with my first ever sub woofer. It is quite noticeable for a more impactful low end. I still haven't had much time to listen to music with it...but it seems pretty awesome! I got bdot a knitting bowl. It was a random colour. Would you fscking believe it was orange. Sigh... Fortunately, her Birkenstock slippers seem to fit just right. We had my Mom over for Christmas day. Dinner was no-fuss: Ham, Pirogi and yellow beans. Simple and delicious. I think we are past the need to spend hours slaving in the kitchen for a single meal. Looking back, I don't know why we did that. I recall bdot having a few long afternoons. Thankfully we have evolved.

We pondered watching a classic movie in the evening but settle on Red One instead. My expectations were very low... so I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie. The heartless RT critics dogged it pretty bad but we both really enjoyed the mix of action and Christmas. I thought it was actually a pretty new and interesting take. *shrug* ⭐⭐⭐½

We spent boxing day at the cottage with the SiL (and family) and bdot's brother. They have way more snow! It was a fun few days. They made a fantastic turkey. We watched some of the World Juniors. The tragic Canada 🇨🇦 v. Latvia 🇱🇻 game. I don't think Canada will medal this year. Their special teams are awful and they constantly look out of sync. They barely beat Germany 🇩🇪 today. It was taking on the same script as the Latvia game... but they finally got a two goal lead late in the third. Canada is still alive. The big game (as always) will be Canada 🇨🇦 v. U.S. 🇺🇸 on New Year's Eve.

The world is already souring to Tr*mp's ridiculous imperialist rhetoric... and the clown isn't even in office yet. I hope the power struggle between President Space Karen and him consume whatever is left of their souls.

After a painful 13 game losing streak. The Sabres have won three in a row. This team. When will it stop.

Winter Sale! I some some Steam dollars for Christmas. I think I've figured out a few games. The big ticket will be the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn... which I loved.

It's New Year's Eve... Can't say I'm excited about the World 2025 will bring. God only knows what misery the Fanta Führer will enact on the World and the U.S.. UGH. And Canada will have some level of their own idiot to deal with as it looks like PP will take over. (I hope for a minority at least...but Canadians are vengeful voters so...) I feel pretty good and I'm generally happy but - I think 2025 is going to be a tough year for a lot of people

Former president Jimmy Carter passed away at 100. He was before my time... but he seemed like a down to earth guy. Certainly known for his charity work. Can't imagine current Presidents doing anything like that...
