After the long break from hockey... the final was finally last night. What a game. The opposition, Yellow, was determined to win. They pushed real hard ALL night. But wow, the MVP was easily our goalie... She saved her best game for the final and was outstanding, making key saves and keeping us afloat whilst we under siege. And we were under siege a lot. But we kept it close and scored a few late ones to hold on. It was a sweet victory. The first for many of the new players, and for our goalie. I didn't do much offensively. I seemed to get paired against their best line most of the night and keeping them from scoring took precedence over trying to score. I used I get stuck at the wrong end of the gym and our less experienced d-man has to deal with an odd man rush... That's fine for regular season but I think we tried to play it smart in the final. It was a narrow victory. I took a ball to the forehead just beside my eye. And of course, it was their player with the heaviest shot... My glasses pushed in and cut me just above my eye... Fortunately, it was minor, and frankly it could have been worse...I think a mouth or nose shot would have sucked much more. Today it is sore for sure but.. whatever. Yes, I finished the game after Dr.Johnny patched me up. What a great team we have. I so enjoy our camaraderie and winning with them is so fun.
We have an internal team chat and I've had fun writing? inspirational coachlike speeches... The AI is actually pretty good...
We went out for drinks after the game... WTF...a DRAFT guinness is now over $10?! Jesus... Ha, boy can these boys talk... We kept at until we were the last table in the bar... We were told to GTFO... HAHA!!
Sabres have *gasp!* won five in a row...
