Meh. I feel like I got too much sun today. B. and I took the dog to get her first experience with birds today. The Vizsla is after all commonly used to assist in hunting. There are different levels of hunting as far as certifying your dog is concerned. They range (and I could be wrongโฆ) from dogs pointing at birds to dogs retrieving freshly shot birds. I donโt mind the passive hunting certificationsโฆ but I find it a little cruel to shoot birds and have dogs rip at them (even if they arenโt *suppose* to โ some still do) in order to merely give a dog a title. In many cases the birds are just discarded or wasted. Something isnโt right about this. They should at least (if they are game birds) be eaten. Surely we waste enough as humans.
I was surprised to see my dog show very little interest in the birds. Especially after one flew up in her face. Curious. Now I must sleep.
