Greater Toronto Area, pondering

so rude...

so rude...

The cover of Maclean’s today has a big crumbling middle finger with the title ‘the rude age’. It is an article about how obnoxious and rude 20 somethings and 30 somethings have become (later the article is in more chronologically inclusive of the behaviour). For the most part I agree. The lack of mutual respect people have for each other in society today is astounding. I’m hardly a paragon of virtue… But I’ve seen some things that have made me cringe. The article thinks increasing “anonymity and stress” are the main causes for this poor behaviour. Society has become more impersonal, allowing people to more aggressively point out wrongs or supposed wrongs others around them make. This is certainly something to think about, or more importantly, act on.

In other ‘the world is going to hell in a handbag’ news… It was sad to see the Police in the GTA found Cecilia Zhang’s body in a ravine. Clearly she has been dead for months. Frankly I find it creepier that there wasn’t a ransom. At least there would have been a motive. Now it seems that some one broke into the Zhang home, took Cecilia, killed her and dumped her body, … for no apparent reason. Gawd, the world is a vampire.

Remarkably I can't find this cover? (2024) Maybe I dreamed it?
