The Olympics are just around the corner starting this Friday. Hopefully the terrorists can blow each other up for a few weeks. The Olympics are one of the few times the world plays together. Over the years I have enjoyed watching the game. It always seems I can find some team to go for. Like some small nation that is sending their first athlete ever… or the stunning underdog that could update super power nation x and of course, the Canadian athletes. Our medal haul has been meh lately. But I don’t blame under funded over worked athletes. I always see Australia as a good measuring stick to how Canada should be doing… we are similar economically and have about the same population base. Yet the Ozzie always kick our asses in medals. The system they have for funding their athletes is clearly superior. Anyway, I’m hoping it will be a safe games with some pleasant surprises. I like most of the sports. What is your favourite?
