Global warming? Last night (Halloween) was around 21C at 5pm locally. That's crazy warm for, the day before November... In spite of the unseasonably warm weather, the treat-or-treater turnout seemed really low. Possibly the lowest ever...I'm not sure why. I don't think we got more than twenty kids. Jez. Who is going to eat all these left over chocolate bars?! *snort*

Another Friday night of Ball Hockey. Just played one game. Was a good night for us. Solid goaltending by Z.. Someone claimed I followed through on a shot, which seemed ridiculous. He went on and on about it. Some people can be such suckholes. Got a few primary assists. We ended up with another nice win. *eyeroll*

Damn. I burned through the mini-series Chernobyl in a few days. It was absolutely excellent. Powerful. Moving. Griping. Infuriating. Frightening. A great series. Well acted. It was an absolutely damning commentary on authoritarianism and how perpetuating facades instead of telling truth can kill. No one listens to facts or science. So much loss to present a strong nation to the outside. Instead the government push an everything is okay narrative (so called duty to the state - statecraft!) until it was an impossible lie to hide. For Russia Comrade! A3-5. Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later that debt is paid. I rarely need to skip sections of TV but, that culling of the pets sequence was really hard to watch. The series was so well done. One of the best I've ever watched. โญโญโญโญยพ

The official state death count from Chernobyl is um, 31. The actual number is estimated to be anywhere from 4,000 to 93,000.

update

Had a nice hottub soak and movie Sunday night. We tossed around a few movie options and settled on The Adam Project. Hey! A Ryan Reynolds movie that didn't suck! I quite enjoyed this one. Some funny dialogue. Good sci-fi. Clear but predictable story. It was light but entertaining. โญโญโญยฝ
