Goodbye. 😦

Cars play a remarkable part in our lives. They get us to and from most of the things we do in life. Cars are packed with memories. Today we said goodbye to our Vibe. It was bdot’s first car and it has been incredibly useful. We drove it everywhere and it never let us down and repeated impressed us with how much we could cram into it. But cars age and to maintain them becomes costly… so eventually it becomes time to say goodbye. The Vibe gave us over 13 years and around 350k km of service. Yes I didn’t like it at first but I grew to appreciate the vehicle. I drove it to work for years and had a few close calls in it driving in horrible Winter conditions but it always got me home. It is somewhat sad to see how cars devalue. From a car worth over 20k, now a wrecker was offering us less than $200. Fortunately we found a slightly better offer. Anyway. Bye Vibe.

We are fortunate to be able to acquire my Dad’s car. My Mother doesn’t need two cars and the situation fits really well for us. It will be incredible to not have car payments for a while. We should be getting the 2006 Hyundai Elantra next week. Thanks Mom.
