New hiking shoes on a hike

New hiking shoes on a hike

Bdot needed some hiking shoes so the initial plan was to go to New Balance in Oakville. On the way down Trafalgar Road we passed by the Toronto Premium Outlets and decided to check it out. There are several shoe specialty stores there so after finally finding parking we hit a few. The mall is quite nice. I guess everyone knows โ€“ since it was packed. The first store was Columbia and we found hiking shoes for both of us and I scored a pair of shirts. We found more nice stuff at Eddie Bauer but resisted. Iโ€™m sure weโ€™ll be back to this mall one day.

We put the shoes to use today. We picked a hike out of Nicola Rossโ€™ Loops and Lattes โ€“ hike #34 in Terra Cotta. It was a really nice hike. It incorporated parts of the Winston Churchill Bruce Trail Side trial and the Vaughan Trail in the Terra Cotta Conservation Area. The trail was full of roots. If you didnโ€™t pay attention youโ€™d be on your ass for sure. The Conservation Area was a lot nicer than we expected. There are options for some cross country skiing here too. On the way we stopped in at Caledon Hills Bike Shop. Itโ€™s an impressive store. We picked up a bike rack which we hope to put to good use in the Fall!
