Our lovely pile of dirt.

Our lovely pile of dirt.

Yes! The rain held off most of the afternoon so we were able to get top soil/ peet moss and seed down on the front lawn. It was an exhausting endeavor. Our backs are killing usโ€ฆ This had better work. It is suppose to rain all weekโ€ฆ soโ€ฆ the seed should have a good shot. Iโ€™m certainly getting tired of doing thisโ€ฆ

I watched The City of Life and Death this evening. It is a movie about the Japanese occupation of Nanjing during the second world war. Damn. It was a powerful, graphic and haunting movie. Beautifully shot in B&W. It highlighted the atrocities committed by the Japanese and their brutality toward the Chinese during the occupation. The movie was subtitledโ€ฆ but there isnโ€™t a lot of dialogue. A great film. My only reservation: I would have liked to see some form of justification or explanation for why the Japanese were so brutal. Were they just ordered? They come off as animals with only one Japanese solider showing any compassion at all. Or is that the pointโ€ฆ itโ€™s war? Hmmpt. โญโญโญโญ

We will sleep well tonightโ€ฆ
