Family, Home, Orange is the new Black

Our new stairs!

Our new stairs!

The first work week after my holiday felt like it went by pretty quickly. I donโ€™t have a whole lot to report. The reno has made more progress. We now have cupboards in the kitchen! I think they look amazingโ€ฆ the kitchen is still far from being functional however. The countertops are two weeks away and there is still plumbing and electrical work to be done. So early September before we are cooking in the kitchen. Ho-hum. The stairs however were redone (just the stairs, still no railings) and they also look great. So great in fact we are debating about not getting a runner for them. Weโ€™ll have to seeโ€ฆ once they are stained they will likely be nightmarishly slippery. Slippers will be mandatory I imagine. This week, by the end of the week, hopefully hardwood floors. *fingers crossed* I think the hardwood going in would be a big deal. It would mean getting back the spare room and living roomโ€ฆ

My brother in law dropped by Friday night for a short visit. It is always good to see him. He was dropping off some stuffโ€ฆ The rest of the weekend was a bit of blur. Housework. Errands. Meeting with a landscaper to get pricing to save the backyardโ€ฆ or at least phase one of many to do so. We also started watching Orange is the New Black. The series is from the same creator as Weeds. I find the humour is very similar. It is about a womanโ€™s journey through an all womensโ€™ prison. And no, it is nothing like Oz. We are four episodes in and we both quite enjoy it. The characters are really interesting and the dialogue is often quite witty.

Ugh. Bdot away again to the States this week. Bachelor chow again.
