โ€ฆFinally.

โ€ฆFinally.

Before I ramble about my Nexusโ€ฆ Happy Birthday Mom!

Ugh.

Iโ€™m not really sure which corporation is responsible for the nightmare dealing with Nexus 7 is. Google? Asus? Microsoft? Someone somewhere dropped the ball. Getting a driver to work with Windows 7 64b and the original Nexus 7 was incredibly frustrating. It took hours of trail and error and reading on message boards before I came across the Unified Android Toolkit_v1.2.8. Prior to finding the toolkit, I installed, uninstalled, deleted the non functional Nexus 7 driver maybe 15 timesโ€ฆ Some important settings ended up being: having USB debugging on and treating the N7 as a camera. These setting are in developer options.

Very preliminary impressions are favourable. The tablet does seem to run smoothly, the UI is less clutteredโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll have to play with it more before I can be sure.
