Before I ramble about my Nexus… Happy Birthday Mom!

Ugh.

I’m not really sure which corporation is responsible for the nightmare dealing with Nexus 7 is. Google? Asus? Microsoft? Someone somewhere dropped the ball. Getting a driver to work with Windows 7 64b and the original Nexus 7 was incredibly frustrating. It took hours of trail and error and reading on message boards before I came across the Unified Android Toolkit_v1.2.8. Prior to finding the toolkit, I installed, uninstalled, deleted the non functional Nexus 7 driver maybe 15 times… Some important settings ended up being: having USB debugging on and treating the N7 as a camera. These setting are in developer options.

Very preliminary impressions are favourable. The tablet does seem to run smoothly, the UI is less cluttered… I’ll have to play with it more before I can be sure.
