The start of the Hydrocut in Waterloo

Last weekend, Monesh and I ventured to Waterloo to ride the incredible Hydrocut. Sadly bdot is still on the mend with her knee so she stayed home. (But she was busy running around all afternoon soโ€ฆ) It was an interesting drive up. We talked about all sorts of things and found all the roundabouts in Waterloo to be incredible. They were literally one after another for several KM. In doing so we were a little late and missed the Caledon Cycling Club leaving the parking lot. No worries we trudged on. The Hydrocut is impressive. It is very well maintained with tons of trails with varying levels of difficulty. The trails were fun! The one problem we had (it being our first time at the Cut) was which way we should be biking on the single track trails. We were caught going the wrong way twice. Riders were cool but, it could be dangerous. A few more signs would be nice. We did end up running into our club and finished the day riding with them. It was a great day of riding indeed.

After the ride we met the club at a pub downtown, Beertown. Sadly we did not bring a lock for our bikes so they were sitting open for theft. So we errored on not losing our bikes and just had a drink then left. The bar did look pretty awesome. We are planning to return later this season better prepared. We took the scenic route home. Thanks to Monesh for being accommodating and for driving. Gawd. The poison ivy has been brutal. It is the worst Iโ€™ve ever had it. I wanted this photo to remind me to be more careful when I wander in the forest. Thanks to bdot for being an incredible nurse as I deal with this pain in the ass rash. I went to the walk-in yesterday and isnโ€™t infected. Just super gross and itchy. Gawd.

I itch just looking at this.

I may have a job? Iโ€™ll find out more next week. We are off to Killaloe for a few days. *waves*
