Tubbin’. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…

Tubbin’. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…

B. and I had a weekend away at Horseshoe Valley just north of Barrie. It was a Christmas present from awhile ago…. We did put it to good use! We tubed, skiied, snowshoed and used the hottub and sauna. Dinner at Silks was also very good. We both enjoyed soup, I had a yummy French Onion and B. had a recommended Sweet Potato Vanilla soup. The entrees and desserts were also good. I felt like I was going to burst after dinner. The ‘Inn’ however wasn’t stellar. The place looks really dated and is in serious need of a reno. If we had paid full price for the room out of our pockets I would have felt disappointed. It attention to detail just wasn’t there for what I was expecting to be a ‘better’ hotel. The area behind the TV was covered in glass shards and garbage. The decor of the room was very uninspiring and again, was very dated. The staff however does make up for it to some extent. Everyone we met was upbeat, knowledgeable and helpful.

The snowshoeing was fun but tiring and we didn’t get lost! We tried cross country skiing today. Phew… what a workout that is. We had a short lesson before we went out but I don’t think I grasped the correct technique. Still, it was enjoyable and something I’m sure we’ll do again. Thanks to JP and Rhonda for watching Tanga and Michelle for feeding the brats, er, cats.

Oh ya, and I had my first visit to Mucho Burrito in Barrie. Damn it was good!

Had to format C: on my gaming computer today. That always makes me sad. Such a waste of time. Windows suddenly decided *for no apparent reason* that it didn’t want to load my profile. Thanks Windows, continue to suck. Hurry up and get better game support Ubuntu so I can drop its ass forever.
