Christmas, friends, gaming, trees

I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay!

Well mother nature has decided โ€˜let there be winterโ€™ and poofโ€ฆ the temperature drops 15 degrees and people are getting their snow tires out. And officially Winter is still a few weeks away. Brrrโ€ฆ Having the right winter clothes makes a huge difference. I picked up some Sorel boots last year and they arenโ€™t the best looking bootsโ€ฆ but when it is minus anything out Iโ€™m always glad I have them on. Especially during dog walks where you never know what youโ€™ll step in.

B. and I went out to dinner tonight with one of couples we run Tanga with. They were a lot of fun. I still feel bloated from the Smokey Jackโ€™s burger and Oreo Shakeโ€ฆ but they sure tasted good at the time. We made a short stop at Chapters and Wal-Mart as well. Surprisingly Wal-Mart wasnโ€™t that busy tonight. I was hoping to score another 360 controller for a gaming session on Sunday but they only had wired controllers. Hmmpt. It is amazing the spin off accessory market that spawns off products like Xbox, PSP, iPodโ€ฆ hundreds of add-ons, upgrades, mods. Phew.

Tomorrow we are going to:
chop a tree down where it was born
drag to car along roads, stones, hard ground
strap it down to the car
let it freeze all the way home in the wind
leave it on the deck neglected a few days
drive spikes into its base
adorn it with lights and trinkets
stare at it as it dries out and dies
toss in recycling a few weeks later

I enjoy Christmas trees. But this tradition is a little odd donโ€™tcha think? -smirk-
