Gaming is for the weeds

Oh, hey there.

Oh, hey there.

For gamers out there today is a big day. It is the first day of the huge E3 expo! The expo unveils a ton of new games for both next generation consoles: Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PS4. I’m on the fence so far with which console I’ll get. I’m discouraged by Microsoft’s draconian DRM policies and the pay to play of Xbox Gold…and the thing will cost a massive $500! I’m waiting (and hoping) to hear more gamer friendly news from Sony. The games that Microsoft displayed today were pretty cool. Of course the graphics look amazing… but ironically the pixelly simple RPG Below grabbed my interest the most. I like that Witcher 3 is coming to the console, but I’ll likely get it for PC anyway. Microsoft did ditch the Xbox points… thank gawd… and they said something about two free games. Still… largely expected shooters, racing games and fighting games. Nothing really that new or interesting. The Rome based game was curious but looked like a reskin of games we’ve seen. Please impress me Sony.

Weekend was pretty quiet. Saturday we were outside most of the afternoon waging war (yet again) on the yard. The backyard has been upgraded to tolerable as I weeded half the backyard. Sunday we started gathering info on options for getting a hottub. We would love to get one, who wouldn’t right?! We are hoping there is money left at the end of the reno. We are looking at a few smaller models and so far really like the Marquis’ Mirage. We’ll see how it goes. Lots more investigation to be done.

Bruins vs. Hawks for the Cup. Ho-hum. It should be good but two teams I’m pretty indifferent about. Go Bruins, I guess.

Looking like a cool raining week. Bleck.
