The 40-Year-Old Virgin

Saturday we finally dropped down to Niagara to visit my parents. This summer has been crazy busy and we have been trying to get together for weeks now. We were busy, or they were busy. This weekend worked. It was B.’s birthday so we had extra reason to celebrate. My mother told us about an interesting Jamacian BBQ restaurant in the ‘Falls called Copacabana. It sounded really good so we decided to try it out. You can’t make reservations for parties under four…so we arrived to find out there was a *gasp* 2.5 hour wait! That wasn’t happening, so we went across the street to the Outback. It was a good choice. Dinner was awesome, the service was good and we all enjoyed ourselves.

It seems all the long hours at work may be paying off. Our game’s producer brought a pre-Alpha build to show off at a gaming conference. The reviewer had some kind words. ⚠️ (link now 404 😕 - Jan/24) Hopefully reviewers continue to think we are doing a good job. It makes nights like last night (all nighter 22 hours) worth the sacrifices.

We held the Vizsla meeting at our place on Sunday. One of members, who is also a friend, and I watched a slew of dogs in the backyard during the meeting. From what I heard some people got out of line and unnecessarily heating during the meeting. Gah. Get over yourself. *You’re at a dog club meeting!* Some people’s kids. It is very sad to hear. I’m been doing a far bit of work on the club’s website and it is very close to going live. We had a nice evening with Brian and Marine, a couple from the club. We got some pizza and watched 40 Year Old Virgin. It was quite funny… ⭐⭐⭐½

It was B.’s birthday on Monday. (Sadly I was at work the entire day…) I got her an MP3 Player. I’ve never really played much with an MP3 player. It is quite an impressive piece of technology. It’s about the size of three clothes pegs side by side and it can play video, music, show photos and has an FM radio in it. *Gosh!* It’s pretty cool. I’m actually considering getting one.

Today was pretty quiet. I recouped from the very long night of work on Monday. Zzzz… Somehow my freaking laptop (with Vista) wouldn’t boot up this evening. It would login then hang on a black screen. I tried to repair it but Windows said there was nothing wrong. *headslap* So it has been reformatted. 🙂
