Eternal Sunshine of the *Spot*less Mind

Eternal Sunshine of the Spot*less Mind is a curious film. It stars Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet as two strange characters who met and try form a relationship. It sours and they find a way to erase each other from their memories. Once the film gets going it is very impressive. The film travels back into the Carreyโ€™s characterโ€™s memories and depicts them being erased. As it is happening he decides to fight it and has well written conversations with his memories. One of the themes I thought was in the film was clearly to seize the day. I think nearly every character said at least once โ€˜can we talk about it laterโ€™, or tomorrow or put off talking about something important. With the memories being lost the moment becomes more valuable. I enjoyed this film a lot. The characters were strange but touching and accessible, the dialogue was great and the various erasing memories scenes were impressive. โญโญโญโญ The title of the film is taken from Alexander Popeโ€™s (1688-1744) poem Eloisa to Abelard line 209. A recommended rental for something a little different that should put a smile on your face in an unHollywood manner.

I must have some weird form of dyslexia. I had written the title as Sunless Mind. Curious no one spotted it sooner. Hmmpt.
