Buffalo Sabres, Gaming, Work

You are paying what?

You are paying what?

Have an interview downtown for a web dev position later this afternoon. Seemed to happen really quickly. Just applied this week, got a call yesterday and arranged the interview today. Maybe it will be a really good Friday? Weโ€™ll see. It is a not for profit. Iโ€™ve worked at a not for profit before and it was mostly a good experience. Anyway, nice to get a call.

Iโ€™ve become a wordscrapper addict. What is wordscrapper? The facebook application equivalent of scrabble. Somehow it is more fun when it is digital.

Sabres are clinging to a less than 2% chance of making the playoffs now. There are several ways tonight they can be officially eliminated. *shrug*

UPDATE!

The interview went pretty well. Seems like a cool, casual place to work. The staff seemed pretty youngโ€ฆ I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m going to be too excited about the salary offer if it gets that far. Weโ€™ll see. They said theyโ€™d call either way next week.

Wowโ€ฆ Getting out of downtown Toronto turned into a nightmare yesterday. Leaving around 4PM I couldnโ€™t make a left turn on any of the major north/south streetsโ€ฆ So I kept wandering along Carlton that turned into College that turned into Dundas Street West which was really going East, then Northโ€ฆ SIGH. Needless to say I wasted close to an hour because I couldnโ€™t make a left turn. At least there was Green P parking nearbyโ€ฆ *eyeroll* The fsck up at least allowed me get Island Food roti, even if I mistakenly ordered it with hot sauce instead of extra roti sauce. Ho-hum. The frustration of the day continued into the night as the Sabres were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs despite a huge 5-1 win over the Canes. The Ranger won making them impossible to catch in the standings. So another year as an also ran for the Sabres. Unless some big changes are made (which I really donโ€™t expect to happen) it will more of the same next year.
