A lovely day for a snowshoe!

A lovely day for a snowshoe!

New Yearโ€™s Eve we spent with sister and Brother in Law. We started the evening off with a long snowshoe through Copeland Forest near Horseshoe Valley. They had tons of snow on the ground and it continued the snow the entire time we were thereโ€ฆ where as here in Bolton, just over an hour away, it is warmer and we have barely enough snow to cover the ground. The walk was the longest since my surgery and I was happy to get some fresh air and test things out. For the most part things seemed good physically. I finally had an opportunity to take some winter photographs as wellโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll share some on flickr soon. When we got home we ordered some delicious Indian food from Tara in Barrie. It was a little pricey for the amount of food we received, but the food was very flavourful. During dinner we watched (what is now sure to be) another classic rivalry game between the Canadian and American juniors. What a game. I was pretty shocked at how sloppy and uncommitted the Canadians were for the first 40m of play. So many turn overs, always second to the puck, no hustle, no dedicationโ€ฆ it was like watching the Leafs. ๐Ÿ˜› They did come on in the third and somehow managed to winโ€ฆ but I wonder if the best team won and if that was a gold medal team. It was a pretty low key evening we played some Euchre then crashed.

We did another snowshoe yesterday then came home to met Kirk, Sandra and family. It has been awhile since Iโ€™ve seen KK and family so it was great to catch up and see his kids. They have such wonderful personalities, his daughter has a joyfully infectious laugh (more like a giggle) and their son was perpetually curious and trying to explore his new surroundings like a Velosaraptor. -Smirk- Iโ€™m hoping to have a few get togethers with KK in the new year.

I caught the last 10m of the sabres and Thrashersโ€ฆ they were behind 3-1 when I turned the game on and won in OT 4-3 after a funny bounce off the boards behind the net.
