Cottage country

Cottage country

Right after work Friday it was up the 400 to cottage country. We went to B.โ€™s sisterโ€™s cottage this weekend. What a great weekend it was. Saturday we spent most of the day touring the areaโ€™s waterways. The Trent-Severn system is pretty amazing. The of ingenuity behind some of the locks is astounding. For exampleโ€ฆthe Big Chute lock: you position your boat on a massive lift that โ€˜liftsโ€™ your boat out of the water, up a hill and drops you back on the other side. It reminded me of something youโ€™d see at Wonderland. (Iโ€™ll post a photo laterโ€ฆto help explain it) Today the lot of us took a look at a few cottages. Iโ€™m not sure if we can swing a cottage but we may try. We found a lovely cottage on a quiet back channel with tons of trees, property and waterfront. The lot has a bunkie and a wooden cottage. Nothing fancy at allโ€ฆ but charmingly rustic with a screened patio area, small loft and tons of space to dream and grow into. Weโ€™ll see. A lot has to happen for this to be reality. But it could happen! ๐Ÿ˜€
