Congrats to Kirk and Sandra

Yes. Another wedding this weekend. My good friend Kirk tied the knot this weekend to his long time girlfriend Sandra. I was happy to be in the wedding party so I could share this special day with him. It was a long day. It was hot as hell (ironically) in the church. Phew. Turn on the fans! Iโ€™m wearing a black tux! Feh! The groomsmen had fun with the photographer. We has some funny shots playing hockey and posing with a stuffed penguin and guitars. Later we ventured into a more traditional setting and had many shots taken in some beautiful gardens. I thought it was interesting that you needed a permit to take photos in the gardens. Donโ€™t have that in Niagara.

The hall was quite striking and beautifully decorated. I was, however, not impressed with the DJ. The head table was setup along the front of the hall with the DJ table behind it. Instead of moving the speakers in *front* of the head table they were *behind* us. One bridesmaid was given a migraine and I also developed a nasty headache. It was often too loud (I saw guests with fingers in their ears). Yes guy you are a DJ and have a loud system. Do you see a rave crowd here? No. Mostly older people who may not like volume on 11. Wise up. I enjoyed the dinner and most of the dancing. I didnโ€™t get the Spanish dancing but it was fun to watch those who did. They certainly danced up a storm. To โ€˜get the bride and groom to kissโ€™ you had to share some wisdom. The tired โ€˜do whatever she wantsโ€™ โ€˜the bride is always rightโ€™ โ€˜she is the bossโ€™ was echoed over and over. I found it got stale fast. How many times is that really funny? The bride and groom, most importantly, seemed to be enjoying themselves. Again, congrats, you two seem very happy, and well suited to each other.
