First off, I hope my sister is okay. She took quite a tumble during some sort of cycling event and dislocated and/or separated something on her upper body. The photos looked nasty, like a bone was popping out of her back. Tylenol 3 take me away.

And yet another blur of a weekend. Weโ€™ve been trying to improve the yard this summer. There is so much too do. Weeds aplenty and tons of invasive plants that are ravaging our back lawn. (Not to mention simply wanting to add plants and colours onto the property that we likeโ€ฆ) So Saturday we spent part of the day at a garden center trying to find some interesting shrubs for the front garden. We picked out a neat little red shrub but found out the front may not get enough sun for the shrub to properly bloom. Bah. When we got home we did a bunch of yard work. I dug out a deceiving large stump from the front garden. It was quite a battle. I ended up with numerous scratches and gouged my right ankle pretty bad. But the bastard stump is outโ€ฆ Now to find something that can survive in the spaceโ€ฆWe also assembled our new backyard furniture. It looks great and is very comfortable. We are hoping to create a space we can really relax in, this was a big step to achieving that.

Sunday was Field test day for the dog club we belong to. So we did some voluntary work all day. It was a long, tiring day. We got up at 6:30 and got home just before midnight. We were about 30m from the shores of Lake Erie at a farm used for dog training. The wind in the area was brutal. It was non-stop during the entire event. I planned birds the entire day, fortunately I had a rotating bunch of members to help me. Erin, Ross, Brian and Terri all took a tour of planning. I managed to get a pretty nasty sunburn for my day in the sun. B. ran Tanga for an FD title but the dog failed in a few critical areas once again bringing great shame to the family. We made a short visit to Brian and Marnieโ€™s to see their puppies and dinner. I was exhausted by the time we got home.
