Ubuntu Server Ubuntu

Gah! So, the power went out last night. I didn't think to check my web server... I should have. It was dead. Ubuntu was booting into emergency mode. It was down for a while. To quote jetpack: unsung.blogdns.org is now back online! It appeared offline or unresponsive for approximately 11 hours, but everything is back to normal now.

The issue was one of the drives was not mounting... It took me a bit to determine it was my mistake... In fstab I was specifying my drive using id= instead of uuid= so the system wasn't finding the drive and chaos ensured... UUID is unique hardware identifier (if I understand correctly) -- huh -- maybe id= isn't even a thing. I can't find much info on it... Regardless, updating the fstab from id= to uuid= fixed the problem. *PHEW!* I thought the power outage fried the drive. After the many, many hours of recovering my blog entries that would have been crushing.
