This cake is the bomb!

It was a Bachelor weekend for me as B. went up to Ottawa for the weekend with a bunch of her girlfriends. So It was just the dog and I. Dogs are much better companions than cats. I like cats more overall, but Tanga is a good buddy when I’m alone at home. Saturday we went for a long Bruce Trail hike. We didn’t see anyone, just three white tail deer. I always see deer in that section of the trail. I watched the Sabres’ faltering continue both Friday and Saturday night. Pretty brutal play. I also got my haircut. My hairstylist is a Leafs fan so it always leads to interesting discussion. I’m curious if this will work.

Are you ready for some football? I thought I was… suddenly around noon I developed a massive headache, fever, upset stomach, dry wretching… I’m guessing it was food poisoning, but I can’t imagine what it could have been. Strangely as quickly as the symptoms developed they passed…I felt okay by 2PM… Very strange. So the family ended up coming over to watch the Superbowl. I’m very happy to enjoy sports in HD… it really kicks it up a notch. Superbowl 44 was the favoured Colts v. the Saints. It was a great game and the underdog Saints ended up bringing the championship to New Orleans! Congrats to the city, I’m sure it can use a little positive energy. Food. My gawd… both my sister and mother brought a ton of food both for dinner and dessert. We will eat well for a few days. The winner by far however was the cake my sister brought. There is a bakery in Orillia called Mariposa and they make something called the Bomb cake. it isn’t much to look at, but so good. Chocolate, peanut butter whipped cream and chocolate cake… yes hon I saved you a piece. It was a nice ending to the weekend.
