A bunch of guys from work and I went to Horseshoe Valley tonight for skiing/snowboarding. I was the only skier. -smirk- I want to try snowboarding but Iโm pretty certain I will stick with skiing. Snowboarding looks more complicated in so many ways that I canโt imagine liking it more than skiing. But I will try it once and see. I enjoyed skiing though. Believe it or notโฆ in spite of the very limited skiing experience I haveโฆ I didnโt wipe out once tonight! Admittedly I stuck to the easy and moderate (and accidentally one diamond hill *cough* *gasp*) but that is my speed. I see no reason to go beyond my comfort zone. One of my co-workers wasnโt so lucky. He was doing some sort of trick on a pipe and seriously injured his shoulder. This is the same guy that injured himself earlier this year wakeboarding. Ish! I spend most of the night with another snow noob. During one of his runs someone yelled โDarkness!โ at him from behindโฆ he said he nearly wiped out. He thought it was another one of our co-workersโฆ turns out it wasnโt. Odd.
The drive home was pretty bizarre. Our driverโs car started the drive home with one headlight working. After about 10 minutes the working light died. Soโฆ. Our choices were A) Darkness or B) Hi-Beams. Sorry to all the northbound traffic on the 400, we choose B. A section of the 400 was closed (due to an accident?)โฆ so we diverted down Janeโฆ which also had at least two accidents on it. Pretty creepy. We saw no less than 20 cop cars tonight. I guess there was a lot of ice on the road. An enjoyable night. My co-workers are a lot of fun.
