More snow! *Lion roar!*

More snow! *Lion roar!*

I'm not sure what our ball hockey league did to piss off Mother Nature but...wow, it has rarely snowed this season. However, both nights we have had our championship final games - it snowed significantly causing most people not to come. Out like a lion indeed. Pretty weird. Friday wasn't that bad... we did play with those who showed but the finals have been postponed. I had a remarkable night. I was always in the right place at the right time it seemed. We had a radar gun to measure shot speed a prelude to the upcoming skills competition. Ha... I think I'd be lucky to hit 70kph and some guys with the composite sticks were getting close to 90! Jez. ๐Ÿ”ฅ It was a fun night with two comitative games. Unwound after at a local go to restaurant with some members of the 'board of directors'. Good chatter.

The Canadian Men's Soccer federation can relax a little. The pressure was significant for the boys to get a result against Trinidad & Tobago yesterday. Winning would get them a coveted entry to the Copa America. One of the oldest and most sought after trophies in soccer. Anything can happen in a CONCACAF game...T&T played great defensively for the first half their goalie stopping tons of corners and half chances. The pressure was definitely on. The longer the game remained a tie, the better it was for T&T. Captain Canada Cyle Larin finally got one past the keeper at around 60m. The game opened up considerably afterward and Canada had to do some defending. The extra open space led to some odd man rushes and eventually Shaffelburg got a clear chance and blasted one close range over the keeper in extra time. The roster looked good - they did generate a lot of chances but the final touch, once again, alluded them most of the game. A clean sheet and two goals is a good result. Now the competition ramps up considerably in Copa as Canada will face some of the strongest soccer nations in the world. I think this will be looked at as an opportunity to gain international experience at a big tournament. Canada's opponents will be heavily favoured in every game. I mean, Argentina June 20th, Peru June 25th and Chile on June 29th...maybe one draw if we over-perform?

A great Canadian series?! *gasp!*

A great Canadian series?! *gasp!*

Schitt's Creek was exceptional and redefined my opinion of Canadian TV. I've always seen Canadian TV as safe and saccharine. Which is why I had no interest in watching Schitt's Creek for so long... But wow...it impressed the hell out of me. The characters were both funny, touching and entertaining. The dialogue is witty and much more raunchy than I've heard on a Canadian series. I loved it. It made me laugh more than any series in a looong time. The friendship and banter between David and Stevie was amazing. I was very sad to say goodbye to these characters after we completed season six last night. I'm glad however, that there was a happy ending.

The attack at the Russian theatre is very sad. Politics aside...people were just there to watch a band and are instead watching a massacre. Of course, that one-track mind of P*tin has to use this tragedy to his advantage and some-how pin an ISIS attack on Ukraine. What a sick-o.

Wow, I've been reading the Dragon's Dogma 2 reviews on Steam and it looks like CAPCOM really shit the bed with microtransactions (21! possible pay add ons - LOL!) and a whole slew of anti-player issues. The recent reviews are mostly negative. How disappointing. And on top of that, it is one of the most expensive games I've ever seen on steam at $95 CDN! Also reading the optimization is really poor and even gamers with great systems are getting crap framerates... Ugh. Fscking CAPCOM.

Installed font awesome. Because it is awesome. (Although they do paywall the best icons...)

Wow! The US abstained from the U.N. vote on Gaza, so the security council voted in favour of an immediate ceasefire. Finally.

What an unfortunate occurrence in Baltimore. A massive tanker lost power (and the ability to control itself) and couldn't change course. The huge ship had already gained momentum. It's course hit a major bridge support and the entire bridge collapsed. Apparently, the bridge is a significant connector to the east coast...Brutal.

It is amazing how poor sports some of the Mexican CONCACAF fans are. They are just so embarrassing. Mexico should be suspended from major tournaments since their fans behave like entitled toddlers.
