Good places and bad places

Ugh...

Ugh...

Iโ€™m really beginning to hate the commute home at night. On any given evening I can be stuck creeping along the Gardiner, 401, 410, 427 for up to two hours. After, what is usually, already a long work day โ€“ these drives are brutal. It seems so arbitrary the delays and congestion as well. It often seems like there is no good reason for the delay other than peopleโ€™s inability to cooperate, merge and get on with getting home. This is a bad place.

This morning I had two dogs snuggling into me. Tanga and Ellie. The bed was warm, comforting and the house silent. Clearly a good place.

In my ever-changing linux distro install โ€“ I switched to Kubuntu 7.10 last night. Kubuntu is simply Ubuntu with the KDE desktop environment. I have to say Ubuntu improves significantly with each release. It is impressive for a free OS. I was able to install and update Firefox with only a few clicks (Add program) and wow! my webcam worked with Kopete so friends and family can see my ugly mug if they so desire. Overall Iโ€™m very happy with the install. Iโ€™m trying to update KDE to 4.0โ€ฆ It looks spiffy.

Iโ€™m leaving work early today to see the Sabres v. Lightning with my Dad! ๐Ÿ™‚
